Was listening to the Perfect Kiss live-version from some of the 2006 gig recordings and found this track sounding fucking great and reminded me of how amazing good this track is 
Can anybody on here point me to a really great outstanding live-version?

I think that one youre refering to is on the Glasgow DVD (can also be seen pn Youtube). It is great and its sad that it was abandoned for so many years.
My personal favourite is the Academy 1987 version (which is available on video/dvd? of same name and also audio file is on download sites). Barneys guitar work is sublime.
My favorite live version is from the Chapter III bootleg, recorded in New York on August 25, 1987.
The fidelity sucks, and it was mastered from a cassette deck that played slightly fast, but the urgency and passion it gives the performance is breathtaking.

To be fair though.. I must have heard it at every gig i went to 1986-1992, and it was getting a bit long in the tooth, especially with the later standard set finish of that and Blue Monday or Fine Time.
The late return was welcomed though.

This entire show, in fact, is quite astounding. It's my favorite Blue Monday for sure. I was fortunate enough to attend both of the Pier 84 shows that tour as well as a few others (Merriweather Post & both Berkeley shows), and the 2 NYC shows from that tour remain the highlight of my New Order concert going experiences (around 20 shows from 85-93). Something about summertime in New York--I was on vacation there from Alabama which (for you Brits) is thousands of physical and cultural miles from NYC--and that it was towards the beginning of the tour had the band in the perfect mood those 2 nights. That first night they were opening for Echo & the Bmen (they alternated headlining on that tour) and I think they actually preferred the shorter time slot. A quick concise set that I think they (Bernard especially) really could sink their teeth into and then get lost. If you slow the recording down to proper speed (as I'm sure you've done 50 lb.) it's still a quite listenable recording (one of the few audience tapes I still go back to repeatedly, in fact).
BUT, to answer your question, Bernard's frenetic guitar work on the back-to-back London Polytechnic and Slough shows from Dec. '85 make either of those 2 versions my favorite performances of TPK.

No no no! I actually love that everything is pitched up a note. It adds so much energy, and I love the set list they played. Blue Monday, Everything's Gone Green, Bizarre Love Triangle, and Shellshock are all fantastic versions. Chapter III is hands-down the bootleg I listen to the most.
The Perfect Kiss is my all-time favorite song, and I've always wanted to record a really grand cover version. In my head, I hear Bernard's guitar solo leading up to the frog breakdown from Chapter III mixed with the guitar solo from the BBC Radio One version. I've filled in the blanks and added extra bits culled from all my favorite live versions.

My live favourite has always been Temptation, and, I must admit, when I got my copy of the Glasgow DVD I kept skipping PK (heard it enough times, bought the t-shirt, etc). However, I stuck the DVD on over Christmas as backing music whilst I was getting a meal ready, and PK AMAZED ME!
The arrangement is sharp and crisp and Bernard's voice - a hit and miss affair when live - is pitch perfect.
It's a superb performance.
As for best version live, I've seen them twice - MEN and Apollo - and to be honest I can't recall if they played PK.
