KXLU Radio in LA broadcast a Part Time Punks 'Factory Special' programme recently where they played a a tape that supposedly came from Jon Savage and contained the following:

  1. Inside The Line - recorded on a boombox at TJ Davidsons in 1977

  2. Guts for Garters - (aka Gutz)

  3. At A Later Date

  4. Atrocity Exhibition - DJ says it's an unreleased version.

  5. In A Lonely Place - Sounds like Barney on vocal, not sure if this is JD or early NO.

  6. Homage - Different recording

  7. Procession - Steve Morris on vocals

The podcast can be downloaded HERE.

several of those are already out there. the "unreleased" atrocity exhibition is the piccadilly radio session version, for instance...and again shows how much more striking that song could have been if they'd not taken it in the direction they did.

dear god, the dj of that is trying to say that Morrissey was essentially responsible for Factory Records et al. cause when he was 14, he mailed Tony Wilson some record and bitched about the NY Dolls. I guess New Order should give Morrissey all their money.

Steve clearly did not want to be the frontman:laugh: Not exactly sung with confidence.

They're not fake anything, the DJ just doesn't quite know enough about them, that's all.

Some of the JD stuff has been heard before and IALP/Homage/Procession are very early New Order rehearsal based recordings.

Cheers :thumb:
