I'm currently trying to deal with the media section, it's a big deal as our goal is to put as much material as we can without breaking any copyright laws.
This is obviously difficult, because there is live material, only available on bootlegs, that can be considered as copyrighted (and it is), and there is rare gems or demo versions, that will probably never see the light of day on CD unless New Order releases a real anthology with demos and stuff.
Beside, all files are in real audio (streaming format).
Let's see what we have on...
- Blue Monday (Sunkist Commercial)
- Homage
- Theme
- Ode To Joy
- Rocking Carol
- Transmission (Live for John Peel)
- Ceremony (Demo with Stephen on Vocals)
- Elegia (the 17 minutes version)
- Let's Go (with original lyrics)
- Run 2 <= This one is there because it's unavailable anywhere due to the lawsuit.
- Don't Do It (Well, this one is to debate)
- MTO - Same reason as Run2
- Brutal, Digital & She's Lost Control live in Paris.. this is, let's say, borderline.
- Love Juice (Live).. well.. nobody knows exactly what this song is..
- Solitude (The Skullcrusher with lyrics)
- The Happy One (Live by Peter Hook)
- Anarchy in the UK (Live by New Order)
- Sister Ray (Live by New Order)
- Do The Ostrich (Live by New Order)
- When I'm With You (Live by New Order)
- Can't Stop Loving You by ACR (Bernard's remix)
- Good Together by ACR (with Bernard on vocals)
- Crystal (Porno Club Mix) by Corvin Dalek, the original Crystal...
- and a few fan remixes.. which is another debate.
All those are in real audio (streaming), so basically, the person who does a CD with this likes crappy sound.
As for the cover versions, you all know we had a HUGE collection online, which is now gone, the only I left there were 2 submited by the artists themselves, and the Cure version's of LWTUA...
As for the videos, I think it's legit to put them online, they have copyrights, but nobody will decide to don't buy something because he saw a really bad real video version on NewOrderOnline.com
Your opinion is welcomed... and I hope some people will appreciate the fact that there is material available online now.
Take care.
