In another thread some people discussed about the existing New Order tribute albums.

Now I suggest we discuss the ideal tracklisting for a tribute album with existing covers.. one that wouldn't suck, make it realisting in terms of TIME, Live version counts, if those artists would bother to record that song.

My pick would be.

Love Will Tear Us Apart - The Cure
Ceremony - Galaxy 500
Blue Monday - Air
Bizarre Love Triangle - Stabbing Westward
Regret - Get Up Kids
Shadowplay - Ikon
Transmission - Smashing Pumpkins
New Dawn Fades - Moby
Dead Souls - Nine Inch Nails
No Love Lost - Pegas 51
Run - Silver Scooter
Ceremony - The Echoing Green
True Faith - Nathalie Browne
Isolation - Billy Corgan (Starchildren)

It's hard to pick only New Order songs, there is a lot of decent Joy Division covers (as well as very bad ones!)

Ok, I have the previledge of having 800 mb of NO/JD covers in mp3, but still... you can do it.

Just take a recording of the Homage gig. Some very different versions there, notably a dub version of Heart and Soul by Hedz Jellmo, and a hardcore punk version of Thieves Like Us by Fred West.

Your Silent Face by Velocity Girl and Love Vigilanties by Love Seed Mama Jump would definitely be on any comp of mine, as well as Brendan Sun's version of Age Of Consent, Ice Cream Bandits The Perfect Kiss, Truth by Marty, Jimbo and Sloppy, and a couple of others from the homage night...Touched, New Dawn Fades & True Faith (sorry can't remember the bands names off hand)

Do you mean this strange live-version of The Cure's LWTUA that they did in Australia 2000 for this radioshow ??? Sorry, i love The Cure but this version is crap, totally uninspired. And this tambourine is annoying! :evil4:
