Cleopatra is a notorious ripoff label. That's all the backstory you need.

...more can be heard here.

I suspect fakery here. Transmission is definitely the Warsaw session version sped up, and not 1980 as stated.

LWTUA seems to be variations of the Pennine session version.

Anything to do with Ozit et al? Similar crappy artwork and font.

Well in the UK they released the Single via London/Warners when the JD Remasters were done, so would doubt its a proper release too.

I don't think thre's a link to Ozit - but I do agree that there is some trickery going on - the exact trickery has correctly been stated. To be honest I think the Warsaw Transmission tinkering sounds quite good (!)but tinkering it is.

There have been genuine attempts at mixing LWTUA - I've never heard it but a while back there was a "Trouser Enthusiasts" mix unofficially released. Whether it's official or unofficial, what's wrong with saying it's a new 2009 mix rather than trying to pull the wool over our eyes by saying it's a hannett mix from 1980?

Oh I think Ozit have something to do with it, same font on the artwork, the mention of Martin Hannett specifically (even though one isn't), the tinkering (yet again, and in Martin's name again).

As for the Trouser Enthusiasts' mix, it is official in that it was done for DMC and put out on one of their regular monthly releases, with permission.

Cool, although from what I can see you can't buy the track individually - has to be part of a fixed compilation even though its download...

THanks D
