New Order "Exclusives" on iTunes - Bitrate upgrade

For those interested, iTunes recently upgraded a few of their "exclusive" New Order releases from the shitty old DRM-ridden 128kbps format to the 256kbps DRM-free "Plus" format. Someone's obviously been busy with the CD ripper at iTunes HQ.

Anyway, the following releases have been upgraded to iTunes Plus:

The cream of that bunch in terms of rarities is probably the session tracks from the iTunes Essentials package. Most of the other releases listed have tracks unavailable on CD.

If you previously bought the releases (as I did) iTunes should detect the previous files in your Library and charges a token 2-3 quid for the iTunes Plus upgrade. It's probably worth it because 128kbps is shocking by 2009 standards. Mind you, it was shocking by 1999 standards.

Also, don't forgot The Perfect Kiss (Live Video Edit) on "Best Remixes" - previously only available on a US Promo 12" - I'll have to upgrade some purchases! :)

They played Hey Now What You Doing at that iTunes session. It's good as well I dunno why it's not on the proper release. :confused2:

Is that the only "lost" track they played, Jack?

It would be interesting to know the complete running order of that session.

As far as I can remember yeah

Don't know why HNWYD isn't on the final release as it's a good version. I like to think they left it off because of the horrific title of that song. "Road To Ruin" would have been so much better. :banghead:
