I am a fan since I was in high school in the 80's! I know New Order's music very well. In fact I am a disc jockey. Now to my problem... Back in the early 80's a local philly station played the song Blue Monday - New order. Now they did not say who sang it etc. But the song played was totally the same as what you hear on the substance album from 1987. (the normal version) However the version played on the radio had additional sound effects in it. Like a laugh. I have heard almost every remix of this song out there looking for this version. I did record it on a tape which sounds lousy with static etc. This was recorded on the radio around 1984 but not much later then that year. I am aware of the remixes that came out in the late 80's but it sounds nothing like this version I am looking for.
Does anyone out there know what I am talking about or could help me figure this out? Could this have been something the philly radio station just added to the normal version?

daft question,but are you sure it wasn't the DJ that was laughing on air whilst the record was on?
There is some laughing on every second counts on the Brotherhoos album,perhaps it was a sneaky mix?
You want one of the Blue Monday '88 remixes. They added a bunch of those effects, like laughing, sound of an apple being munched, etc.
It's Blue Monday '88. All the remixes have laughing and a man saying "Boy, this is too much!"
Either you remember the year wrong, or the DJ added something on his own.
There are no official remixes before Blue Monday 88 12" mix and 12" dub, which do have a sarcastic laughing sample and are different from the Blue Monday 88 single mix.
Unofficial remixes are probably unlikely back in 84. Suppose they could have used cassette tapes for bootleg remixes but that woulda sounded like shit.
I think the version of Blue Monday you are talking about is on an album called "1988 Demos", which is most likely a bootleg or unofficial release.
