I do quite like her but I'm a bit underwhelmed by this cover.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by her in general. Dunno what all the fuss is about.Still, isn't she doing Glastonbury? Might try and catch her set on the telly if she is and see if she changes my mind. I like the sounds she creates on her little toy on this one but the vocals do nothing for me. Bit of an obvious cover really too

Sorry, but that's shit. And I don't believe she's playing the whole thing on that toy.

You can find simulators for it all over the internet. There's one at lab.andre-michelle.com/tonematrix but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

she's not 'playing' it. she would appear to have pre-programmed a bunch of patterns and then just selects the pattern change at the appropriate time. she always starts the songs with a little pretend build up of button pressing to make it look like she's working an instrument. it leaves me a bit cold this. these covers can be a bit samey and lacklustre. if the tenori-on didn't have flashing lights and was just a black rectangle like every other sequencer then we'd see it for the musical limitations it has. having seen LB do a few of these tenori-on covers it feels more like an affectation or marketing ploy than a musical pursuit. I prefer the drums and piano interpretations. they are fun, foolish & ill-advised. less about niche-ing herself and more about enjoying the interplay between 'artist' and 'audience'
