the vinyl is probably from digital brickwalled masters, so what is the point!?

you can't cut brickwalled vinyl, it's not technically possible.
It's nothing but complaints from you lot, I don't know why they bother either, you're not worth the effort.

you can take stuff that has been mastered for cd, all brickwalled, and then cut from those digital sources for vinyl.
get a clue.
you know that is what they will do. otherwise, they have to go back to all the analog source tapes and cut from them.
they will not do that, or they would have done that for the cd release last year. they have admitted they are missing many of the analog originals.
so they will use already brickwalled digital masters, convert them back to analog. which defeats the entire point and benefit of vinyl.

Nope, you take a brickwalled master into any vinyl cutting studio and they will reject it, it's usually specifically mentioned in lists of things to NOT do when preparing your master for a vinyl cut.
There are other things to watch out for too, don't apply wide-stereo effects and keep the bass response largely on both channels (not panned).
Failure to stick to these guidelines can result in a bad cut or audio that just can't be cut properly.
