Seconded, that is truly awful.
It's certainly not what I was expecting.
Production would have to be spot on to carry that - it sounds far too tinny on my little laptop speakers. Hooky's bass sounds quite different - like he's trying a new style. If so, fair play. The vocals are too muffled, but sound more Revenge than anything else he's done.
Jury's out here I'm afraid.

Nice one Nicos! ![]()
I was starting to get scared thinking that Rourke had persuaded Moz to join this project
I was also wondering why so many guitars at the beginning when you have 3 bassists ![]()
Psychedelic reggae with spoken verses.
Will take some time to absorb and appreciate.
I liked the bit at around 1h:43min with the distorted bass/guitar.
Honesty is the best policy ![]()
You can't really hear the words as the mixing sounds a bit muddy around the vocals. There isn't really much of a melody. I'll definitely give it a few repeated listens to see if it's a grower but I would've thought he'd have let rip a more radio friendly track. I thought the same of that Tube Theme at the time it surfaced... for first impressions of a new band you ideally want a track that's immediate and grabs your attention.
Both Freebass tracks haven't really done that for me so far ![]()
I'm hoping he's got a killer single tucked up his sleeve ![]()

Wasnt there another one, on a radio 6 programme a while back about the remasters ( I think), which had Tim Burgess on vocals?
You know what? I actually kinda liked that! Reminded me of Movement/PCL transition New Order (with the exception of the vocals of course). I kept thinking "Turn The Heater On".
No idea why the vocals are the way they are mind you...
But yeah. I'll definately investigate further.
Bit shit, innit.
Do like the mouth-organ type thingy near the end though. Very Barney-esque that. ![]()

nice production (what else would yuo expect) but..... there's nothing as wrong as white boys doing reggae sounds way too megadog 1993 / crustie campervan getting all cosmic at avebury, or maybe second rate Lionrock .
Fuck me! You people are really not open minded are you!
Firstly it's not gonna be the first single from the album, so relax. Secondly, the rest of the album really is different and it's only Stalingrad that sounds like this, it is a standout track, so again, relax.
Amazing how negative and dismissive people can be about this whole project when all you've heard is a snippet of unused music that was for the Tube theme and then a track that sounds nothing like the rest of the album. Having had time to listen to the whole thing numerous times then I can only say that all the "it's shit" crowd should just wait and see. And the reason the sound isn't up to all your high standards is because its still in the process of being mixed etc etc. So.. whatever.
