Sounds a hell of alot better than the psuedo rastafari song... so if that's a rejected demo, either that instills hope in my heart on the FB album.... or it means they're tossing good for shite...
Sounds like AOC vs Sunrise with no Barney singing over the top. It's better than that other shite, I agree.
But otherwise a bit like the 'Happy One' i.e. a Hooky bassline with nothing over the top.

I think it's great, as a demo. Just what we wanted from Freebass - loads of BASS, rocky feel, dance edge.

I hope they're a real contrast to BL: songs about shagging, rather than loving.

Sounds much better than Stalingrad to me as well - rejected though? With a bit of mixing and some vocals that could be a bit of a tune right there.
If there's more like this on the album then fuck me, we could have some optimism after 5 long years 
I assume with the Xmas rush we won't be seeing the album until the opening months of 2010 though?
Would be nice to see Freebass join BL in having a solid release date.
I always liked the music on this one, shame it didn't make the cut in the end. At least you can still listen to it from the MySpace and stuff like that.

I like it, very, very cool. I agree he needs a songwriter- someone with a good voice, etc etc. Can anyone imagine someone like Ian Brown over this? Haha, not me. By the way is that Gary Briggs on The Tower? No offense meant, he's okay, but definitely my least favorite vocalist Hooky has worked with yet.

Yeah, I'm not trying to knock what Hooky has done, but a better vocalist could have been found- surely? Manchester was full of them in the 80s, just look at all the obscure Factory Records singles! Hopefully the other tracks are much better (I expect them to be), and this song was left off for the reasons we are hearing. Regardless of the vocalist though, it sounds like a few different songs in one. I like it when it starts sounding a bit like Monaco though.

Well, I don't want to the knock the entire project, just part of it. The vocalist isn't "bad" he's just not great. :)

Like I said, the vocalist isn't great, but he's not unbearably bad. He's just mediocre. The music is okay, a bit busy, but okay. It's good when it starts to sound like Monaco. It's just a mediocre tune with some good and bad qualities. :)

I always felt there would be something from this Freebass project that would appeal to me.I liked the whole concept when it was first mooted and the main players doing it,natch.. Was wondering if it was ever going to become a reality though,I must admit.
