Well, I'm a teacher and one of my pupils is 14 and is into New Order, he followed the lead of an older brother i beleive!
Im almost 26 now, but got into New Order when I was 11/12, all my mates were listening to Whitney Houston, Madonna and T'Pau and there was me singing away with my copy of Substance! lol
It actually surprises me how many of my pupils know about NO, I have at least 3 or 4 other pupils (6th formers in general) who are into them, needless to say, there isnt much work done in those lessons, as most of the conversations are about NO!

I thought that most New Order fans would also like The Cure and Depeche Mode, but it seems that some of them LOATHE The Cure and will like the Pet Shop Boys and the Chemical Brothers for instance, while some others are big Cure fans and will like bands such as The Smiths as well... and hate any synthpop bands.
I always thought that was a bit strange, but only reflects the two sides in New Order: one pop, one rock.

Seb, That is so true. My tastes for music are defo in the electric/synth side of things, New Order, Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys etc..
But my best friend from school was into New Order, The Cure and The Sisters of Mercy!
Apart from New Order, our tastes couldnt have got much more different!

Thats understandable but I'm definitely not into New Order for the synth side or the guitar side but for the mix of the two. And whatever, it's the songs that are so great, their humanity, the tunes, the émotion... So, who cares if they're dance, pop, rap (remember "Feel Every Beat" by Electronic ? What a chorus !) ? Anyway, I'm not exactly a young fan since I am 32 and I've been a fan for 16 years now...
