that last track on republic. you know, that dull instrumental? avalanch i think it was called.
I love Liar. Could never skip that track. Great lyrics in my opinion. Fine Time ALWAYS gets skipped. I have just completed my 4 CD NewOrder collection with all of my favorite neworder album tracks and b-sides taking up discs 1-2, favorite singles and sing-alongs on disc 3 and my favorite remixes of new order songs on disc 4 so no song needs to be skipped. I always skip Slow Jam, Rock the Shack, We All Stand (except the Peel Session where i skip Too Late).....
Starting with track 7 on Republic. We All Stand is a skipper but I kinda like the Peel Session version. Guilty Partner on Technique is skipped.
Too lazy to skip tracks - I usually find that if I'm expecting a N.O. song to bore/annoy me, I'm pleasantly surprised if I persevere.
Also, quite alot of the time I 'rediscover' tracks after people here have mentioned them... e.g. I've started to quite like 'Hurt' again. You gits... :jump2:
I always skip :
Truth All Day Long Subculture 12" Fine Time Slow Jam
and often skip Spooky Times Change Murder True Faith BLT Substance
but have been known to repeat play Perfect Kiss Leave Me Alone Lonesome Tonight Regret
Originally posted by Oh, I've got green eyes I always skip Avalanche.
and also State of the Nation at the end of my Bro'hood CD. Never understood why this track had been added after the perfect ending of Every Little Cunts on the Factory CD.
Love Vigilantes' i have never liked the track and never will......why cant they play 'Sunrise'(live) instead.

What?...You never liked LOVE VIGILANTES ??? This is almost like blasphemy.....
Anyway...the track I always skip is TOE JAM....and funny thing, I'm beginning to like SHAG THE ROCK.....

I know i nearly spilt my cuppa when i saw a thumbs down for LV !
Ahh well what do i know i like Slow Jam!! ![]()
Probably Perfect Kiss on Low-life, just because it's a complete bastardization of the single version.
Also, Shellshock, Confusion and SOTN on Subs disc 1; Mesh, Confusion Instrumental on disc 2

I've long ago reduced "Republic" to a mere 4-track EP since a couple of years ago.... saves me having to programme the bloody thing to skip the seven duff tracks on it, so what's left is this:
1 - Regret
2 - World (I can just about tolerate the backing vocals here!
)
3 - Ruined In A Day
4 - Everyone Everywhere
as for the rest is usually:
Movement - none PC&L - none Low Life - Face Up (it's a bit on the throwaway side, even though it's still my fave album) Brotherhood - SOTN (on the CD) Substance - Blue Monday, Subculture, Shellshock, SOTN - CD 1 Hurt, The Beach, Confused Inst., Shame Of The Nation - CD2 Technique - Fine Time, Round & Round Get Ready - Vicious Streak, Rock The Shack, Someone Like You, Run Wild.

You skip Vicious Streak?
I'm shocked and horrified. This may be the best song NewOrder have churned out in 15 years (a tie with Primitive Notion)
Oh well, it takes all flavors.
Republic's the only album where I really skip anything. I always skip Liar and Chemical and stop the CD before Avalanche starts because it makes me want to cry (don't ask me why, it just does).
the only song ive been skipping a lot is fine time. ive been hooked on this promo new order cd (20 years of new order) that starts with crystal and works backwards and includes 3 joy div songs. anyways, ive probally skipped it 100 times the past two weeks because its sandwiched between round and round and true faith and id rather hear true faith especially after just hearing round & round.
