Well... it's a video.
As guitar porn, though... A+. I'd slit Phil's throat in a second for that Fender Electric XII.

The Fender's the best part of it, for sure. The blurring hurts my eyes. Are they trying to blur out Barney's & Steve's faces so we won't realize they're old?! Patronizing & insulting to them and us. I'm pretty sure nobody is thinking say, I've heard some things about this hot young band called Bad Lieutenant...think I'll check them out...

Actually I was hoping it'd be shot in a neo-Gothic church with Hooky making a spooky silent cameo dressed as Christ. The music would stop while Barney gets on his knees and shouts "Where the fuck were you? Where the FUCK were you?"
Er...maybe next time. ![]()

Would have been nice!

Phil is pretty dorky, another reason for all the blurring and fast cuts

I remember feeling embarrassed when I caught sight of the horrible pointy cowboy boots on the Glasgow DVD. When I saw they belonged to Phil and Barney & Hooky were still wearing their Adidas, I thought "oh, thank God..." Not intending to start another Adidas discussion here, BTW.
The bass player is awesome. He doesn't have band aid fingers but he is the coolest in the band.
Does Barney actually get paid for wear ADIDAS? If not, he should really buy a pair of white meshed shoes like all the senior citizens wear.

Well, with Hooky not being around anymore some ones gotta do it![]()
Steve looks bored in this vid, but still he's the coolest of all![]()

Early word is that Bad Lieutenant has slipped a badass cover of Run DMC's "My Adidas" into their live set.

Both Barney and Hooky been wearing Adidas stuff since the mid to late 80s. Maybe they just like Adidas?
I actually quite like the simplicity of the video. The blurring effects don't bother me, and I don't think said effects were supposed to be an insult to Barney and Steve. Phil does like to rock out to the music, doesn't he? However that may look it doesn't bother me either.
I actually surprised to see Steve in the video, and I suppose the bassist is Alex James?! (Never really got into Blur, sorry)
That's not AJ, no.
AJ is about a million times smugger with a big floppy fringe, teeth that could rip a horse's tonsils out and the unbearable stench of stale cheese and cow shit.
Dave Fox wrote: What are the guitars they're playing. They look interesting. 12 string semi acoustics?
not sure if this is the exact model, so risking getting flamed from a guitar nerd, but the twelve string is a rickenbacker, something like this:

read about them here:www.rickenbacker.com
Phil's is a 1966 Fender 12 string
www.ggjaguar.com
Barney's is a Gibson ES330, which is a six string
www.vintageandrareguitars.com
And I can't bring myself to mention that fucking awful bass!

Don't listen to that Fender-bass-hating maniac! Anyone who hates Fender basses is not to be trusted on matters musical!
Phil: Fender Electric XII (as in the number 12). Made between 1965 and 1969 and used on ditties such as Tommy and "Stairway to Heaven." I don't think it's ever been reissued, so that's the real deal. If so... nice.
Jake: Rickenbacker 360/12 - "the" jingle-jangle guitar. Semiacoustic. (Note the sweet "R" tailpiece, which Mr. Fender Hater left out of his photo.) ![]()
Barney: Gibson ES-335. I guess Bad Lieutenant didn't have the budget to cover 36 guitar strings so Barney's stuck with 6 on his. Semiacoustic.
Bass Guy: That's a gorgeous, beautiful, sweet-sounding Fender Jaguar bass. If I had the money (or an Eccleshall to trade in) I'd buy one this morning, as would any bass player with any sense.
They're all wonderful guitars, but you could walk into Guitar Center today and buy the Rick, Gibson and Jag brand new. Phil's just showing off.

Sorry.
is that better?
Is it me or does the head of Phil's fender look like something that would have happened to John Holmes if he had lived any longer?
We'll leave the Fender/Gibson argument, what's the point, we obviously don't agree on that, the Ricky though is gorgeous.
