These changes

I woke up at the sun rise and I took a walk outside was alone at the roadside yeh the futures open wide

here it comes rushing through me like a river to the sea I got lost in the colours many shades deeper than me

so how long these changes the long light reaches out of sight got lost in the great tide of what I want and what is right

can't stop this world from changing I don't know if I'm wrong or right some days it won't stop raining it's not all there in black and white can't stop this world from changing

if this life has a meaning you've got to dig for it my son and they'll try stop your dreaming and if you do you'll come undone take your time with this healing on this road you've just begun love and hate just a feeling burning up just like the sun

so how long these changes the long light reaches out of sight got lost in the great tide of what I want and what is right

can't stop this world from changing I don't know if I'm wrong or right some days it won't stop raining it's not all there in black and white can't stop this world from changing

Don't keep it all inside Don't ever be denied One day this all will blow away

Walk on silver water

Tell me what I've got to do to get my mind away from you spell it out in black and white close the brackets do it right

It's just a dead end street rain and thunder where two rivers meet and you always took the best from me hit by lightning underneath the trees

I can't walk on water or still the raging sea I can't move a mountain or live eternally

No use fearing what you're not or crying over what you ain't got close the blinds turn out the light you won't see what you don't like

It's just a dead end street don't you know it cos it made you weep I can't show it but it gets me down I'm sick of living in this the dead end town

I can't walk on water or still the raging sea I can't move a mountain or live eternally for I am just a free bird hanging in the air don't care about tomorrow cos I know you're not there

so walk on silver water calm the raging sea and climb up in the mountains and wait there for me for I am just a free bird hanging in the air don't care about tomorrow cos I know you're not there

walk on silver water

I think: Jesus save this heart of gold take the time to save a soul

In the french live clip it seems it's 'take the time to save this soul'

also it's 'will he bend or will he crack' not will he bale or will he crack (I was thinking more nautical than Barnie lol)

I'll edit the earlier lyrics post

If any one can agree on any edits to any of my original guesses just let me know as I don't think you can edit them.

I think the last bit is "where moths got eaten by a dog" (or at least that's what it sounds like to me)!

Although, Quadrant Park was a Liverpool nightclub in the late 80's/early 90's, so it's unlikely that dogs/moths feature in it (despite my other posts! :p

Also, I'd take a guess that this:

"two zero oh dear me this guy was off his tree"

is actually

"two zero zero three this guy was off his tree"

(following the 10-year gap between 1983, 1993, and 2003 theme)!

:smoking:

While the 2003 thing makes sense lyrically--- yet I keep hearing a 'M' consonant when I listen to that bit. If he were singing '2003'---you'd hear a th consonant, but it doesn't sound like th---more like an M sound (although it's a bit difficult as Bernard doesn't seem to enunciate much).

Then again, who knows?

You have not changed You can't runaway in the second verse yet. It is 'you can runaway' because you can't runaway makes no sense.

And I hear clearly 'you'r living underground' and not 'you'r moving underground.' You have not changed that either. :\ohwell:

I've changed it to can in the first verse, left it as can't in the second, think of it as a compromise lol

to me can runaway or can't run away make equal sense, just have completely different meanings; perhaps when more live stuff comes out we can nail which one it is or even if it's both.

I forgot to change 'moving' to 'living' will do it now :thumb:

According to the lyrics sheet I have from my Never Cry Another Tear CD (I just got it from amazon.co.jp this moment)---that bit apparently is

'Almost got eaten by a thug'.

And then...there's also: 'Shine on me...my lord' and 'Two zero oh dear me'.

According to the lyrics sheet I have with my CD, it says 'You've been living underground'.

(Please note that at the end of the booklet of my copy of it [Japan release, by the way] it says something like 'The lyrics in this booklet were provided by the artist, but there may possibly be changes in the lyrics'. That being said, I think the lyrics sheet is quite accurate.)

According to the lyrics booklet I have that came with the CD, the last lyrics for 'Poisonous Intent' are:

I'm a searcher for a soul Reflecting light that falls on gold

Thanks. Maybe it's an idea to add the lyrics of the last three tracks on this page?

With official lyrics they are really spoiling us

I know I should be glad, but if I'm honest with myself a little part of me was looking forward to discussions about moths getting eaten by dogs in years to come.

I had been hearing "a moth got eaten by a duck" all this time.

That is a shame.

When WFTSC came out the thread lasted for ages and was really funny. The official lyrics were based on what we came up with, too.

Keep it coming.

Tony Moore wrote: I had been hearing "a moth got eaten by a duck" all this time.

 This is actually possible

Bernard researching to help on Stephen's farm?

Insects are a part of a ducks diet, though moths are not mentioned specifically.

Perhaps upon returning to stay at Morris farmstead after a late night out at Quadrent Park, Bernard's eye was caught by the glowing light of the old barn, Gillian had been milking the cow earlier and forgot to turn off the light (Tsk) Being drawn in by the light Bernard lay down on the hay pile, looked up and was astounded by all the moths flying around the naked bulb. During breakfast the next day, (pancakes cooked on the aga)he made a passing remark about the moths, and Stephen with his vast agricultural and animal husbandry knowledge instantly pounced on the fact that this was a free resource for feeding his badelynge of ducks.

Bernard of course forgot all about this, until staring blankly at a computer screen at 3 in the morning trying to come up with rhymes for lyrics for BL songs inspiration hit him like a combine harvester hitting a rouge bantam hen.

that do ya Mr Big?

Falling Trees

I can go anywhere Where I choose I'm sick of hanging round When there's nothing to lose

I've had enough I'm getting out I want the world And I want it now Break that door Cause I can't breathe How can you say that I can't leave Let me watch that river run How can you say that you're the one

I'll wait out in stormy weather We'll use our love for a shelter Wind blowing in the breeze Watch out for falling trees I need a new beat to dance to Break out and do what I have to I found my way in this world You were the answer girl

Doctor please I'm in a mess I think I may be in distress I've got this girl stuck in my eye I couldn't loose her if I tried I wake up nearly every day Wondering what she's gonna say I'm telling you this ain't a joke You can fix me I'm not broke

I'll wait out in stormy weather We'll use our love for a shelter Wind blowing in the breeze Watch out for falling trees I need a new beat to dance to Break out and do what I have to I found my way in this world You were the answer girl

Split the Atom

Say you're as blue As the summer sky This world you lost It's no sacrifice You flew so high But they'll shoot you down And hold you back And then steal your crown

Sing high sing low Sing high sing low Sing high sing low (oh oh oh...)

I would do anything for you Split the atom until it's two Stand in front of a speeding train I'll get wet In the summer rain In the summer rain In the rain

Say you were lost In the undertow Has nothing grown From the seeds you've sown You say your heart Was in his hands While he was busy Making other plans

Sing high sing low Sing high sing low Sing high sing low (oh oh oh...)

I would do anything for you Split the atom until it's two Stand in front of a speeding train I'll get wet In the summer rain I would do anything for you Split the atom until it's two Stand in front of a speeding train I'll get wet In the summer rain In the summer rain In the summer rain In the rain

Higher Wider Deeper

Sitting on my own two feet I don't want to be alone Don't recognise you any more Say what you want Do what you need You and me just have to believe it I'm here to stay cause you're what I crave I'll stay with you from cradle to grave

My emotions lie open wide For your love I will surely die Higher, higher into the sky Hearts are broken where angels fly

Waiting for the rain To clean my soul In and out all day Just fetching coal Just take what you need I don't want it back I'm looking at you to Help me attack This worm in my soul This parasite This friend in need Here by my side

On my own in the undertow Not a trace of the man you know

My emotions lie open wide For your love I will surely die Higher, higher into the sky Hearts are broken where angels fly

Higher higher Higher higher Deeper deeper Wider wider Higher higher Deeper wider Higher higher Higher

How Long

Sometimes when I feel so lost and lonely there's a place I go that's sometimes hard to find

And sometimes the hardest place to pass though is the open door that lies within my mind

How long must I wait to find the answer though this road is long the fire burns tonight

An' high above the city streets felt the air beneath your feet there's solice in the vast expanse know that nothing's up to chance

There's freedom in the air tonight a million stars are burning bright I'll see you in your dreams tonight see you in your dreams tonight

How long must I wait to find the answer though this road is long the fire burns tonight

Stay strong cos this climb it will get steeper cos the sweetest place is the one just out of sight

How long How long

This album should be called The Great Outdoors or something with all the endless references to bloody rivers, seas, mountains, roads, streets, skies, weather, suns, winter, summer, autumn, spring, breezes, waves, shores, snow, air, wind, falls, gales, rain, ice, storms and of course, twees.

Would be alright if the lyrics evoked rich pastoral landscapes of windswept, rugged beauty. But they don't. They are there because they rhyme and / or because their authors are lazy.

Gawd, I hope it's because they are lazy...
