Reviews of Hooky's book - How Not To Run a Club

I just finished and it was a great read! It was full of some graet factoids, and Hooky is really a great story teller! Man, what a hell of a time they had!!!

• How strange would it be for a son (i.e. Jack) to read all these tales of debauchery, drug use, booze and mayhem about their....FATHER?!!?! HA HA! I bet its surreal for Hooky to say ... now now son, Say NO to Drugs!

• Can't beleive they kept making the same mistakes despite warnings from EVERYONE. Ben Kelly's over-the-top approach on one project after another....no one throught twice about it!?

• Excstacy imported to England by....NEW ORDER... love it !

• I would have loved to see all those great bands perform during their starting days when the Hac was more of a live venue

• Love how bluntly Rob Gretton told Morrissey off !!!

• Funny joke Hooky made about returning his Nazi Halloween Costume to...Barney !

• Hooky hitting on a B-52 ... classic

• Having to finally align with the gangsters to control the gangs....smart ;)

I don't want to give away any more...but all in all it was a fantastic book. I read it in 3 hours....

BUY IT! READ IT...and I look forward to more reactions/reviews!

i overheard some dumb stoopid brickie in the pub the other Thursday night trying to review Hooky's appearance on BBC Breakfast. He didn't know Hooky's name but tried desperately to give opinion on the Hacienda and Tony Wilson.But he got his facts completely and embarrassingly wrong. I kept schtum and had a little chuckle.

I'm about halfway through - and it's certainly entertaining - but I don't think he needs to reinforce on every page that they didn't know what they were doing and/or it was New Order's money. I think we all understand that from the outset.
