Once I found a webpage with a non-working link to an alternate take of NDF from the Unknown Pleasures Sessions. And the guy seemed to be well informed. Has anyone here ever heard of an alternate take of NDF that's available? Dirk

No, it wasn't part of the RCA sessions. What happened was that some geezer a few years ago announced he had "exclusive remixes" of New Dawn Fades and Candidate. All he'd done was piss about with them by adding some effects at the start, and doubling the echo on the drums. Don't waste your time with them.
There is a German bootleg LP named "A Retrospective On The Vinyl Pain And Pleasure Of Joy Division" supposedly with outtake versions of "Candidate" and "New Dawn Fades". These tracks are also in another bootleg from the same "label": "A Retrospective - Part II".
Maybe the tracks are just these bogus outtakes Easy E is talking about. :(
Not directly linked to the subject, but didn't Hannett do some different mixes of Digital and Glass when they did A Factory Sample? I seem to recall reading that they only existed on a cassette that Peter Hook had, and that sometime later someone had found a load of un-labelled tapes at the recording studio (of which that was one) and sold them off as blanks for 50p each!
