No new B-sides... sniff.
There is! Poisonous Intent (Tintin's Disco Mix)
This any better?
Same artwork as the uk/euro promo and same as the limited edition "print" that came with the NCAT box set.

I wasn't expecting any new b-sides. From the "regular" edition of Never Cry Another Tear it's reasonably clear the album was originally intended to be just 12 tracks long with "Head Into Tomorrow" as the closer. If this were 10 years ago Falling Trees, Split The Atom and Higher Wider Deeper probably would have been the b-sides to any CD singles released. These days bar the populist acts the singles market (particularly for alternative/leftfield bands) is mostly dead so they erm, deposited it all at once.

The Single edit from the promo CDR has about 10 seconds chopped off the album version, nothing major. They blend the final chorus over the outro guitar solo. Aside from that it's mostly the same track. I'm not 100% sure but I think they may have cleaned up Barney's vocal. Could be my mind playing tricks though...

It's a black and white image of the inner sleeve of NCAT. I wouldn't call it shit artwork, seems ok to me... the days of elaborate Saville-esque "epics" are long gone it would seem and as always with this type of thing it's all subjective innit? Monaco's debut album was the last bit of NO-related (Saville) artwork I personally really liked and would have on my wall. Get Ready and WFTSC seemed a bit lazy and too abstract for me. First thoughts for me looking at them were "Saville really didn't give a f*ck here, did he?"
Some people love 'em though I'm sure...
Poisonous Intent is my favourite BL track and the promo of the disco mix is very promising. ![]()
And FWIW, I agree with almost everything in Tucker's post above.
I understand the lack of B-sides but it would have been nice to have had a live track from one of the recent shows or maybe an acoustic version. Let's face it, 90% of remixes are shite and rarely better than the original.
I think they did use Tin Tin's mix as the basis of the live version, from what I was told (and they slightly cocked it up at The Ritz).
The artwork kind of reminds me of the one they had for the Blue Monday remix. Remember it looked like a big blue Saturn? Except this is not as colorful. If there is a weakness to the BL artwork in general, it is the utter total lack of color.

I actually like the black/white contrasts they have for a lot of their artwork and whatnot, but that's just my personal taste. Some like it and some don't. :)

Thanks for letting me know! Sounds kindof like the "myspace edit" of sink or swim.

B&W are terrible on space images, at least it ain't a graph on a pulsar, eh?

Yeah, like these ugly old sleeves...

Who says artwork has to have colour to be "good"? It's like saying old black and white photos are shite next to colour counterparts which is obviously not true. Unknown Pleasures is among one of the most - if not the - recognisable and acclaimed pieces of JD/NO artwork and there's not a morsel of colour in it.
Anyway, a quick link for those who may be interested in owning the Bad Loot digital releases in full quality WAV or FLAC format. Head over to Juno Records. They offer the Sink or Swim remix bundle & Twist of Fate single releases in lossless format for a reasonable price (I got both for a tenner).
Downloaded direct from their site and burned to a CDr, quality
none of this MP3 or AAC shite... encode whatever quality you need from master files. Full artwork included as well.
Very very very nice to see an online shop finally offering lossless.
If for whatever reason Freebass choose not to release a physical format of their stuff at the very least they should include full quality WAV & FLAC downloads via the Fac51 site. MP3s and AAC are fine for on the go but don't cut it too well on proper hi-fi setups.

It seems it's not available anymore!
Can't find them.... are they UK only?
This site seems to have "Sink or Swim" as a WAV bundle and FLAC (individual files only):
Has anybody bought anything from there?
No sight of "Twist of Fate", though..

Twist of Fate and the Sink Or Swim remix bundles are there - dunno if they're UK-only?

Ally's link gives me: "Sorry, but there aren't any products to display here.". So I suppose that means it's not available outside the UK (I'm not in the UK at this time, despite what it says in my profile)..
Nick, are you saying both titles are available to you Brits on the German site?

Very funny.
Don't get me wrong. I love the JD artwork. That suits JD's music which is stark & full of contast. That B&W color scheme suits the 70's era as well. My point is that this is now 2010 but maybe they are going for a look that is timeless. Idk.
