It was a cover provided by some at the time big band on myspace I believe. None of it is the original track, so it's basically a very polished cover.

It's not a bad cover necessarily, but the commercial doesn't give us much to judge it by.

Cover versions

The song has been covered by a number of artists, including:

\* Radiohead for their "Thumbs Down" webcast on 9 November 2007.

\* Galaxie 500 on their 1989 "Blue Thunder" EP (available on the re-issue of On Fire).

\* Xiu Xiu on their debut EP from 2002, Chapel of the Chimes

\* The Echoing Green.

\* The Morning Benders

\* Fall on Your Sword, in Fall 2009 television and web-based advertisements for Absolut Vodka.[2][3]

It's a pretty clever re-edit. None of it's from the original but I actually really like what they've done with the arrangement. Works really well with the visuals. I hate vodka though. Sends me fucking nutty so it does.

Liked the advert - got a text from DoN as soon as it was aired

Not a massive fan of voddy unless it's....

Jugs of Vodka & Red Bull - refreshing as fuck, but lethal. Alternatively may I suggest Half a pint of lager & A bottle of VK Ice mixed together to make Turbo Shandies. Equally lethal.

It's been playing alot round here in the states. Well I've seen it quite a few times on the telly anyway.

VK Ice??? Puhleeease. Half a pint of Stella topped up with a bottle of Smirnoff Ice. Very popular in Tenerife in the early noughties was the Turbo Shandy. Blows yer feckin head aff tho.

It's a good short cover of a great song. Is a full version available? It got me to rediscover NO after a much-too-long hiatus. If it brings new fans to NO and their music, great.

From what I found a while back googling it, the band has no intention to release it.

No release planned but FOYS seem to play it often at their concerts. :thumb:

Galaxy 500 supported the sundays on their first tour for rwa / rough trade, back in 89, and it was and remains a great cover.

the absolut thing is really nice, and I first saw or knew about it when it was in the ads pre Avatar, pre Christmas< Odeon Leicester Square.

Reminds me more than a little of the Jose Gonzales "LWTUA", which is no bad thing.
