The S25 Bad News Week is one of the best 12" from 1987 IMHO - major kudos to Bernard for such cracking production and mixes.

Aside from not getting the Radio Edit of "24 Hour Party People" from the 7" white label on Factory (which James Nice tells me would likely have been lost by Warners by now), my only complaint is that the Stockholm Monsters "Partyline" isn't on here. That was one of Factory's best singles in 1987.

Coole IMAGE-loved that FACTORY logo.Best seen on TRANSmission 7 inch

The Factory silhouette logo wasn't designed by Peter Saville Associates (specifically Phill Pennington) until 1984 - it first appeared on the FAC 126 "Alan Goes to Moscow" poster (which was used for the LTM Auteur Labels "Factory Records - 1984" compilation). So, it didn't appear on the "Transmission" 7 inch. For FAC 13, Factory used the original Factory Records bar graph logo that originally appeared on the label for ACR's "All Night Party" single (FAC 4).

OK - I think I need to correct myself just a bit here... the bar graph logo used on the "Transmission" label actually first appeared on the X-o-dus "English Black Boys" 12 inch (FAC 11). The afforementioned ACR single had custom labels.

I stand corrected.What i meant is the RED bar graph logo is my Favourite FACTORY design and this calender just brought back the memory of this by association to ME.Remember an awful lot of beer and TIME have passed for me since i got FAC 13.Think this newer logo is on a PINK James Nice book i saw in HMV last week that caught my eye.There was a SLIGHT scuff on the cover so didn't buy it.Lovely design though.Cheers for info. I think the book wasa called SHADOWPLAYERS.The RISE and FALL of FACTORY Records.....then again it could have been anything :lol:

No need.I don't own X-o-dus 12inch. On the negative side i just tried using my deck to play FAC 13 and it is playing SLOWER again despite the new BELT i bought for it.Maybe have to update the Technics i bought in 1994 or use my sons modern decks! :lol:
