The news came through recently that after some funding issues and a threatened closure, Macclesfield Museum has sprung back to life and our Joy Division exhibition, curated by Jon Savage and myself, will now take place from July 29th - August 7th.

Good news. I've still never made the pilgrimage to Macc. So I will co-incide it with this and a visit to see Ian's new stone. 
I might go Tuesday lunchtime if anybody fancies it. Though I've got a feeling I might have already seen it all at Hooky's talk.

that would me mind-blowing IMO but I wouldn't bet on it being true, I mean, there are too many dubious stories out there, like the one which said Ian was about the leave JD and join another band

same old "yahho" i guess... indie on saturday had an article on the exhibition & also quoted the letter from ian about closer

This article in The Independent was written by Jon Savage himself, curator of this exhibition, and transcribes the Ian Curtis letter. It's a bit shocking to think that Ian Curtis disliked such a great album like "Closer".
