Just when I thought I'd seen everything, something new always pops up and even though it looks somewhat familiar (maybe I saw it back in the day when it originally aired in the States) it still seems new to me. Very Nice!
Remember this... Even though 'republic' was disappointing and they only managed a single UK mainland gig in '93, London had hem promoting like buggers. There were three docs that year - this, John Peel's 'How does it feel' on Radio 1 and of course 'New Order Story' (transmitted on ITV the same night as said gig!).
Those videos were actually the 2nd part of it. The documentary (Past, Present & Future) started off with a small Joy Division special before they talked about New Order. It was broadcast about 5 times in the second part of 1993 on MTV. I taped it, it was about 30 minutes in total.
But that Past, Present & Future special was part of a New Order Sunday, earlier in 1993. This was with all the band members being a guest on MTV the whole day (just the same as they appeared in those videos). They were presenting their favourite videos and all that ... was really great from what I remembered. So this documentary is only a small titbit of that whole sunday on MTV. They talked about all kinds of subjects at length. Great show it was.

Nae bother amigo, funnily enough that BM clip is one of the most downloaded from the blog, the interview before the performance goes down as a classic, who'd have thought the band were bankrobbers and that the synthesizer had a thirst for a Tetley's during songs?
Hi Shug - if you haven't got a copy of the MTV New Order Sunday Special 16.5.93 and want it for FAC383v, I've got it on the usual VHS - let me know.
Past, Present & Future is a nice doc but no rare footage - interviews with the band members seems to be in Rome, I presume at the same time when the video for Regret was shot.
Also all of the band are together in the MTV studio to introduce their choices of video's includ:
David Lee Roth, Bryan Ferry, Whitesnake, Snap, S-Express, KD Lang, PSB
Hooky gets some stick from the others for the "Roth" choice
