Not to mention that The Smiths have been split up since 1987 and it would be quite something to see them play again after all this time.
Unless things have changed alot I dont think theres enough money on the planet to get Morrissey on the same stage as Rourke and Joyce. Morrissey and Marr may have more of a chance. Obviously, Mozzer wouldnt be motivated by the money (not while theres so much coming from album reissues. Know what I mean?) it would have to be a bit less vulgar than that.
And for a lot of fans, arguably, Morrissey and Marr on stage would be enough. Sorry Mike and Andy.
Actually, I believe that Moz's money from The Smiths in the UK gets somewhat tied up due to the default judgement against him over the Mike Joyce affair. I don't think he sees much of the cash due from reissues etc.
Indeed. Mozzer moved virtually all of his assets out of the UK before the Joyce court action concluded so, just in case he lost, which he did, the authorities couldn't get their hands on it. Since then most of his UK royalties have gone to paying off the amount owed to Joyce. So he's made Joyce wait and wait and wait for the cash.
This is the case where Joyce tried to repossess the house that Mozzer bought for family members. The judge wouldn't uphold that and decreed it was a gift and couldn't be clawed back. Who would forgive a cnut for doing something like that? Not many, and I'm struggling to recall if Mozzer is renowned for his charity and compassion in such situations.
