They're making a second Bad Lieutenant album?

Really?

Oh well, you have to admire their persistence.

Hey the first one was not bad at all, it had some great songs on it, who knows the next one could be better because this time Steve is fully involved, I would still love for NO to do music together but till then I will take what I can get.

Well, Electronic did manage to make 3 albums...so I'm not that surprised that BL would be making more music.

Bad Lieutenant hardly seemed to be a financial success, not helped by tour issues either. The novelty will have worn off for a second album. And Bernard promoted BL as hard as he could. Is a second album/tour financially viable?

Issues such as making music vs touring are things that other musicians deal with too...not just BL. Surely, people say fewer amounts of money are made with music these days. But musicians not doing anything, just sitting at home in a retirement situation isn't going make anything better.

If Bernard and his friends (or any other band/musician) has the ability to make music, the passion and willingness (regardless of their financial situation), then don't they have the right to make music if they want to? I'm sure the members themselves are much more aware of the money issues than anyone else.

Bad Lt went very well at this year's festivals, Roskilde and Electric Picnic. According to reviews they were a big surprise and one of the highlights of the festivals. Bad Lt is already better received than New Order 1982. Why shouldn't they make another album?

Good to hear that, Bad Lieutenant is the only new band to emerge in the last few years that I really care about. I can't wait to hear new stuff from them!

Well 'In The Ghetto' and the Stu-Price-dumping implied that BL was an ongoing project (like Electronic) rather than a one-off (like Freebass), and that's good news for me at least. Never got into the Other Two, but if summet coms out I'll no doubt buy it outa curiosity.

Bad Lieutant should release an album of covers, like Erasure did on their ABBA EP. That would be interesting, and the first stone's been laid already - In The Ghetto.

the mp3 metadata claims it's from 1990.

I really must check that O2 site (and this forum) more often - I've only just noticed this new one!
