Yep, I hope all the NOOLers (and their friends and families) living in (or visting) Japan are safe and sound.

Everyone in the UK is pretty stunned by the images we're seeing on TV today - our thoughts are with you.

I'm OK though my part of the country has no electricity. Other people are less fortunate. Thank you for the concern. (^-)

When I heard about the earthquake in Japan this morning, I thought about you also, I hope everything is well with you and I am glad that you are all right.

They are also lying when they say that small amount of people have died.

Thank you for all the concerns. I'm keeping a close eye on our media; my town is not the worst affected, but this country must work together to get through this. The country is still calm & civil; no riots, no stealing, no stabbings, no shootings etc.

To be fair there's a difference between those confirmed dead and those who are missing (but may be dead). We differentiate that in our media. I do not believe the govt is lying or is dishonest. We are not the Soviet Union or N. Korea or China. We must be aware of risks, but panic, gossip and paranoia/mistrust of humans/media will make things worse.

Its going to be a long slog for Japan now. Certainly puts into perspective alot of the complaining that goes on in this country about recession etc. We moan about times being hard while we watch the news on widescreen TVs.
