Ruined In A Day by K-Klass. Didnt New Order "perform" this version on Top of the Pops?

The Confused Instrumental is my favourite New Order track.

The Shep Pettibone remix of True Faith is also a favourite. It's a shame that broadcasters don't use it as a variation to the original version, as the presenter can easily talk over the second half drums-only part of the track...

Probably a couple more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

I also liked a 1992-93 remix of Blue Monday which received quite a lot of airplay on local commercial radio at the time, but I was too young to remember the exact remix artist.

I mentioned that there was a limited ? the best of 2CD with eight Blue Monday remixes on this forum a couple of years ago, but forgot what the kind gentleman told me! It was on sale in HMV for £22.99 about fifteen years ago.

Is there a shorter edited version of this mix to download/buy somewhere?

Besides the Reunited In A Day remix of Ruined In A Day, I quite like the Ambient version of it. The Brothers in Rhythm remix of World is quite nicely done too, the same counts for the Perfecto mix, which is the only remix that is actually better than the original one, I think.

Furthermore the 2nd Temptation attempt (which is on Substance 1987) is much better than the original, but the same doesn't count for the 2nd Confusion version (which also was on Substance 1987).

Arthur Bakers version of 1963 (released in 1995) is almost better than the original. I like what he did with the guitars. So this one is a bit difficult to decide, depends on the mood I'm in ... I suppose.

Con-om-fus-ars-ion Spooky Stadium 1963 Arthur Baker cos it sounds more like New Order than the original! World Perfecto for taking a limp track and giving it balls without butchering it ... I had that BM remix CD and all I can say is if The Rest Of is a rip-off I don't know what that makes this. The nadir being Hawtin's snoozefest, the only original mix on it then. Incidentally, an edit of RIAD-K Klass mix was also used on Radio 1's Top 40. What a train-spotter I was back then!

Got to agree... I love the 2 min 40 sec intro before the song kicks in... Well better than the album version...

Sadly I am still one, especially where New Order are concerned. Was it commercially available? If so what were it on?

Love that intro too. But the song itself I prefer on the LP as it's more atmospheric.

The long version is one of those tunes I never, ever get bored of listening to but Im curious as to whether the edited version was simply shortened (which I could do myself) or re-worked.

Yes, yes, yes!

Yeah it was just an edit. Which anyone could do. Ask Razormaid, whose mixes are in my opinion a complete waste of time - just repeating/editing bits so the tracks lose their cohesion.

Spooky (Magimix) is not mentioned yet! My second choice. Also not mentioned: True Faith (Alternate Faith Dub), my third choice. Eleven minutes, with all the strong points of the song in good order.

I spent many a night in the early 90s Stella'd up to the knackers listening to the Booga Bears ambient mix of RIAD but who were they? Im used to listening to remixes by friggers Ive never heard of but these take the biscuit.

I haven't really had anything wow me since those Weatherall remixes from the 90s. The more recent Richard X remixes were decent though.
