huntsman, as one interested in the nocturnal stripey head beast that is the humble badger, have you actually tried badger racing? www.badgerracing.co.uk my badger is called elegia. it won it's last race thanks to aerodynamic fur, special training & a 6" big bore arse...

As a genuine mark of respect for the thousands of lives lost I don't feel it appropriate for me to make a comment at the moment.

This does not in any way affect my excitement at the content of your post.

That's exactly the kind of attitude that I've had all day and I believe that most users on the site have a similar attitude... And I have to say that I am absolutely not associated with the front news of the site that Nicolas has put earlier and disagree with it because quite frankly, there's nothing to be proud of at the moment.

For anyone who has interest in History, this kind of event is exactly the type of spark that can transform itself into a global war.

Nothing to cheer about.

The only thing to cheer about might that there will be only 30 000 deaths instead of 50 000.

Seb.

The news was written BEFORE knowing that.

Don't worry.. I was just too busy all day watching news site to even THINK about changing it and checking this site.

We can now only hope this is over..

I changed the text a little, I do admit it might look as a bad day to release something exclusive, but I didn't know when I left for work this morning!

Groovy Cheese - I'm digging out the aformentioned item very soon. I'll post an update with track listing shortly - then requests will be fulfilled.

Expect only good things and you won't be disappointed like a man who detects metal only to find a shoe.

... in response to Dave 'The Bager Boy' Hibell and his formula 1-type Badger Elegia. No, I have not personally raced a genuine badger, only in my dreams. I'm going to check out the website you've put up in your post with a half box of Sainsbury's Sour Creme & Onion Crinkles and a full glass of skimmed milk (iced, obviously).

I am startled to learn that badger racing is a series business and would definately consider training my own - adding go-faster stripes where necessary and increasing his (or hers) power until the animal itself was widely regarded as the fastest badger in the North. It would be difficult to put a name to the animal, off the top of my head 'Peter' comes to mind put that was just a knee-jerk reaction.

Do you feed yours on nuts? - If I did take up the sport I would have to allow the small rodent to live inside my house, which could cause a small amount of friction with my other animal. Of course, there would always be the argument over who gets the left hand side of the bed... but I feel its only right and proper to let the badger decide.

the site appears to be down at the moment. my badger is fed on a special protein diet, surely kenneth as you have recently suggested would be right up there in the badger hall of fame?

btw - how many pringles can you fit in your mouth at the same time (both pre & post pringle injury)

It began with a simple crisp Hibbsy, but then depression sank in and I began to purchase entire tubes on my own. Originally, a pringle was broken in twain, then placed inside the pallete, unfotunately, I got carried away and within a matter of days 3,4 even 5 were shovelled in as a clump of crispys (dry - minus dip).

After I accomplished 2 tubes in a 20 minute session I knew I had a problem. On one terrible night 4 tubes were erased in the same way a common human would digest a single pastie. In the morning my mouth was permanently damaged post crisp fiasco.

It has taken several years to overcome my problem. Now I take it very steady, and always limit myself to only the one tube... which, as you can imagine, is extremely difficult.

As for the badger, I liken it to paying for the upkeep of a racehorse, and thus, must pass on the hobby. I'll stick to cats and dogs... and any small creature that steals into my garden sniffing around for excess potato segments.
