On Saturday I read in the Hull Daily Mail's weekend what's on Guide section about a forthcoming (Saturday 14 May) performance at the Piper Club on Hull's Newland Avenue by Right Said Fred, or at least the two Fairbrass brothers, Richard and Fred, who were two thirds of the band in their early-90s heyday.

The piece mentions that Richard Fairbrass is 57, and goes on to claim that "Bizarrely, after leaving school in 1977 and 1978 the Fairbrass brothers formed a rock band, and toured the country supporting groups such as Joy Division."

Now, I've no idea what band this might have been, or how far down the bill on some festival they might have played...but does anyone here know more?

Here's the link to the full Hull Daily Mail story, in case anyone fancies going down the Piper on the night so we can ask them ourselves:

Suicide, Joy Division and Right Said Fred on the same bill! I had no idea that Joy Division supported Suicide, that's something I'd have liked to see. Well done fellow Beverlonian!

Well, you know how it is when you're bored enough to read the Hull Daily Mail...any interesting detail tends to leap out at you.
