"Pictures In My Mind" & "Atmosphere" by The Light - Radio Debut April 29th - iPlayer Link Added

In what is being dubbed “A Mancunian Rock Royalty World Premiere”, Hooky and Rowetta will appear on this Friday’s BBC Radio 6 Radcliffe and Maconie show April 29th with the first ever plays of “Pictures In My Mind”, an unfinished Joy Division outtake that Hooky and his band have now completed, and the Rowetta sung “Atmosphere” featured on the show.

These tracks will be able to be heard on BBC I-player following the broadcast.

I don't think you could fault Rowetta's vocal performance on Atmosphere,they both seemed nervous about having the songs played,further proof that internet criticism does get to people, interesting quote regarding relations with his ex-band mates - "There was a slight thaw on the horizon but it hit a bump".

Enjoyed the interview and the new track 'Pictures In My Mind'. Looking forward to the new book; 'Inside JD'. He's having a ball doing all this and why shouldn't he..?

Love "Pictures In My Mind" - a true classic! Also think the re-recorded "Atmosphere" is brill. The book sounds interesting although still haven't got around to reading the Hacienda one.

Pictures in my mind track is as 1hr 45 mins 13 seconds

Atmosphere with Rowetta vocal 1hr 54 mins 20 seconds

Say what you like about the politics of it but Pictures In My Mind sounds fucking outstanding. Absolutley amazing.

Ive come to the conclusion that I just dont like Rowettas voice anymore, certainly not singing JD songs. Sorry, but you cant win them all.

'Pictures...' is well worth investing in, though.

I listened to the interview twice this afternoon before it disappeared at 4:00pm.I like both tracks but it's really great to hear 'Pictures In My Mind' again.I was hoping it would get a release ever since I heard it at FAC251 last year.

Pictures is great, needed a decent release after the live performance. Didn't enjoy Atmosphere though, it struck me as too overstated next to the quiet dignity of the original.
