Is too similiar a bad thing? I thought wow this could be great to hear bands like New Order or any synthpop New Wave sound and let the public hear the music that started the whole electronic scene. I still think this band The Addiction sound real good!

Sorry, I was actually thinking the same thing thing. I guess because your only had a few posts. The song does sounds good. But I can't help thinking that the band is trying to hard to sound like New Order. I guess it can be a bad thing sometimes. Just my opinion. But sounding like new order is still better than some of the crap on the radio these days.

I agree with you totaly on the crap being played on the radio now days. I myself am more into the 80's new wave. With all the synths and electronic beats also some guitar.:) The music then had much more feeling to it than the music I hear now.

I think they sound like a mix between New Order and Psychadelic Furs. Weird.

Not too bad though...

They should get a proper Singer. His voice is so horrible! I'll bet Hooky would kick their asses for rippin his baseline!

Anyway you would figure you being into this kind of music would show more support of artist that are trying to bring the scene back and not be so negative about it. Tisk Tisk. :p I still like em and hell I even bought their CD and it has more songs that sound even better than that one. So put that in yer book. :)> Originally posted by Auto Panic> I found this group last week while I was searching for music on the net and to me they do sound alot like New Order/Joy Division. I have never heard of them. I checked out The Cure cover of Love will tear us apart and thought to myself that it was ok if it was the first take on the song. I love the cure but I love Joy Division even more! :)

I am not sure why people are always trying to find some band or recommend some band that sounds like NO or JD. If I already have all of their stuff, why would I want another band's music that sounds just like NO? Wouldn't that be redundant. I am always trying to find really good bands from the same time frame, but not just like someone else. Bands like the Police, Echo & the Bunnymen, Art Of Noise, DM, Cure, INXS, Violent Femmes, Talking Heads, Xymox, Smiths... there are SO many good bands between 1975 and 1990, so why try to find someone in 2002 trying to sound like someone in 1980? Just go back to the source. That would be like trying to find bands that sound like Led Zep or Sabbath.. just go to the source - it's always better.

i do the exact same thing....look for bands that sound like the original/source. I dont see anything wrong with it. I always look at it in a good way, as a band paying homage to their influences. And I like that alot of the bands I listen to, like Zepplin or NO, have had that kind of effect to this day. My ex used to also "go to the source". But when you finally have all the cds from the original, maybe looking for a newer band is the only thing left to do if you want something fresh :music:
