So we arrive at the store at 6.25 (after heavy traffic and finishing work at 5) and no sign of any crowds or the great man? He'd gone...! Apparently he got through 150 in an hour. Luckily he'd signed a few spare copies for the store so we got a copy. The event was advertised from 5-8pm. I reckon he was off down to the MEN to see Take That. The elusive Mr Sumner.
some pics of the meet/greet/sining thing are to be found here:

Went along, bernard was in good spiirts shaking hands , having a brief chat with everybody and signing other stuff as well, he signed my Run 2 ( now signed by all 4 yay!)the album and booklet from bad loo box set for me and reserved special praise for anyone in bad loo t shirts!!
Not a huge amount of punters they shut the door on it at about 5.15 which was a bit unsporting on those who were battling against the traffic, I was stuck in the take that traffic jam with only the prosepct of winding down the windows to listen to the pet shop boys to cheer me up.
Lot of uni students so i guess there will be lots of signed cd's on ebay now!

Nice one. It should have been held at 6 to allow for workers to get there. No wonder there were so many students.
I wanna know what is Hooky thinking of all this?
Just Steve and Barney directly involved in this new project ![]()

I got there about 4.15 and was about 15th in the queue. I got the cd inlay signed and my copy of a total poster i bought off ebay, only to find out they were giving them away at the front!
on the upside,i managed to blag a FREE Total T-Shirt from the main man at Warners/Rhino (long but short story).
The only copy i have seen on Ebay was from one guy who was behind me who had a crappy photocopied pic of Barney, wants £17 for the pair, what a BARGAIN! NOT!
Loads of young uns there, quite surprising really and of course the usual suspects,Missy,Canadia,Monty and Barnsley Mike.![]()

It's great to hear that so many young people and uni students were there. See, I told you guys, a lot of younger people are into NOJD. :)
So from the photos, I see that HMV have one of those "Influences" posters on the wall behind Bernard, where they have a photo of a musician with lyrics from a song that influenced said musician.
In this case, they have a B and W photo of Bernard with songs lyrics credited to Bob Dylan.
Those aren't lyrics to a Bob Dylan song, though!
They are the lyrics to AFTER THE GOLD RUSH by NEIL YOUNG.
It's one of Neil Young's best songs! I am a huge NY fan, and I've read Bernard saying several times that NY was an influence on him.
I am kind of irked that those lyrics were attributed to Bob Dylan in the poster!

How do you know I was behind you? Bit paranoid now! If you think £17 is excessive for a mint CD signed by Bernard Sumner you're entitled to your opinion but from what I see on eBay [and indeed the net generally] every day there's a lot more hard faced greedy bastards than me out there! The 'crappy' photocopy is what I picked up from the HMV counter.
