I was thinking, I just paid 60$ dollars for the song Hellbent, whenever New Order or any of their side projects come out I buy about 4 copies each, so for TOTAL I bought 4 copies from Amazon.co.uk because it has not come out in America yet and I can’t wait, I usually buy 4 copies, I open one and the other 3 I keep unopened, one I keep at work, one in the basement and one in my room, so since I already have all the songs on it, I paid all that money for thst one songs, if New Order had many more fans like me they would be millionaires, I know I sound silly but it was just a thought and I had to share it with you here.

Definitely irrational behaviour.... but it's coz you love NO and it's impossible to be rational about the thing or person you love. My feelings about Marmite are wholly irrational (it is the nectar of the gods and everybody should be made to eat a cheese and marmite toastie once a day..... I even liked that weird Marmite chocolate they brought out at christmas).

Eh? What? Buy it four times? Keep one here, there and everywhere?

If you're hoping it'll be worth something one day you're an optimist.

I'll buy mine from itunes.

Do you work in IT?

That's some serious contingency plan you have.

Each to their own I suppose.

You know, for about 20 dollars you can buy a spindle of blank CDs and literally make a HUNDRED copies for yourself of that one CD. It's the year 2011, in case you forgot.

Yeah but I like the cd to be sealed with the sticker on it that is brand new that is why I bought 4 of them, I still regret to this day that I did not buy 4 copies of Monaco's Music for Pleasure sealed, now to buy it sealed is llike 50$ dollars, that cd sealed with the orange sticker looks so nice, but it is impossible to buy it now, Again I know that I sound silly but that's the way it is for me.

Yeah, but why FOUR copies? At a push I could understand 2 (one to use & one to keep) but why so many?

This is why you buy ONE copy and make others as back up. Perfectly legal as long as your not out on the streets selling them. I mean, your logic here is about the same as needing to open up and put on a brand new pair of underwear every time you drop a deuce. The irony here is that CD stands for COMPACT DISC, meaning it's portable and can be carried anywhere.

Homeless man walks by...

"Hey buddy, can you spare some change.."

"Sorry man, only got sixty bucks on me and I need four copies of the same CD because I like peeling off the stickers and shrink wrap."

I like it: the man likes it that way and can have it that way.

I mean I buy New Order vinyl on occassion whenever I see it at a used book store. I don't even have a turntable anymore. But I like it. Purely irrational :) Now I won't buy the same vinyl record twice though, ha.

I can see the rational in collecting vinyl since there's still a huge market out there for collectors and traders. The city I live in actually has like four vinyl shops in my neighborhood alone, plus you'll notice record companies doing limited vinyl runs of new albums. CDs though seem drop half their value in less than a year. Check the used prices of any CD album on Amazon, chances are you can find anything in near mint condition for about six dollars tops.

Blimey... I thought I was bad.

Why not just buy one copy and burn off 3 CDr copies? Why do you need one in your basement? Is that where the bodies are kept?

I bought just the one copy of Total which is the "total" amount I will be buying in this instance. Unless I see an ultra-cheap copy on Ebay for literally under a tenner I won't be bothering with the promotional CDr this time either.

where did you buy the import for $15 from the US?

Are you buying the 3rd and 4th cop as a future "investment", as a first edition? You could always wait until after release when the price drops to buy the extra extra copy.
