According to the discography, "artwork for a US promo CD5 (PRO-CD-3423) was made but the CD5 was never pressed/released".

However, I found this in a catalogue:

New Order / Fine Time PROMO CD Single. Qwest PRO-CD-3423 (1989). USA. VG+/VG+ (Back Insert has a pinch mark/Disc has some light scuffs, probably from cleaning). 1 Track: 7 inch edit (3:08). Standard jewel box with b/Insert. b/Insert is grey with no print except on the spine. $8.00 Ref # 2897

...so I suppose it does exist after all? Has anyone got a copy?

I was a pretty fervent collector at that time, frequenting Los Angeles and San Francisco shops, and never came across a US promo CD single of Fine Time. I have the US white label 12" with the reversed printed sticker and a US promo CD single of Round & Round (with exclusive album edit) but doubt the Fine Time CD exists.

A friend of mine and I actually walked into Qwest Records headquarters circa 1988/9 (the address was on the releases). No one was in the foyer so we walked up some stairs and passed by an open door that led to a room filled with gold and platinum award certifications. I started to get nervous but my friend Jeff continued to another door that led to a receptionist at her desk. Behind her was yet another door that read "Quincy Jones". Before she could speak, Jeff asked "Is that Quincy Jones office?". To her credit, she didn't tell us to get out or scream for security but asked "Is there anything I can help you with?". He told her no and we exited pretty quickly as I talked Jeff out of nabbing one of the music awards.

We never did find out if Q was in the office that day.

www.thingsmusic.com which is not online anymore (yes, I am an idiot - should have ordered it when it still was - and yes, I've tried to email them, but no reply).... Seems to have been South California based.

Archived listing with "Fine Time" here: http://web.archive.org/web/20081121010846/http://thingsmusic.com/page15.html
