As promised, here's my full Q&A with Peter Hook. Unfortunately it was done before the news of the New Order shows, but he does talk about the band, the 'Sirens Call' outtakes, his book on New Order, his favorite album ('Technique'). He also says he may play 'Still' live, too, after the 'Closer' dates are over...

I think Hooky should stop playing JD albums after Closer because it was the last album. Still and Substance are compilations, great collections but why stick to the track listing? Just play any song you would like to perform: be it Walked in Line or Komakino.
Actually I'd love to see The Light doing Closer (why oh why not in Kansas City... eh), but Technique without Barney, Steve and Gillian - not so, for the reasons Hooky mentioned himself - it was a bright record that brings happy memories - seemingly for everybody - so the whole band should enjoy playing it.

I never knew that a longer instrumental version of the songs from Closer existed, I would love to hear the long versions, the short clips on the soundtrack sounded very good, so the long versions should sound good, I think it is a great idea to put those three instrumentals with the other seven songs to make a total of 10 songs, that should give them enough songs for a whole album. Get Peter Saville to design a nice album cover and you got a nice album that will sell and that people will buy.

He seems to be quite busy...touring of 'Closer', as well as writing a book about Joy Division, and he's got plans to write a book about New Order, and maybe possibly tour 'Still'.

Oh yes he still does perform DJ gigs. For example, when he came to the Sonicmania festival in Tokyo this summer (I wasn't there) it was a DJ set, not JD.
