Hooky will be doing a WFTSC Tour!

At least that's what he told the DJ on WFNX in Boston last night - he plans to play all his LPs live before he retires. Unfortunately, didn't get to his show in town, but he sounded good on the radio (he DJ'd for an hour). Though he said something to the effect of the other three "taking New Order for their evil purposes."

Not as ridiculous as it first sounds - because the bass is pretty low in the mix on that album, so would be interesting to hear how Hooky would have liked it to sound.. though I dread to think how old he will be when he gets around to touring it. He might need a zimmer on the stage.

Yeah. I've been critical of him for doing this who The Light thing, but he sounds so sincere and enthused when talking about doing the albums live that I wish I could've seen him last night. I suppose I'll have a few more opportunities (though I said that when I had to miss NO's last NYC date!). He also sounded a bit charitable toward Stephen and Bernard too at times: he said Bernard wants nothing to do with the past (i.e. playing JD), which is alright with him (said in a very reasonable way).

Bernard still plays JD songs under the name Bad Lieutenant. Maybe he meant not playing a complete JD album live.

Even if it's 1 year per album...that's quite a lot of touring isn't it? I wonder why and how he can manage to be so busy, especially when he says he wants to write a book about New Order (no doubt would probably take longer to write than a book about Joy Division). His enthusiasm and energy to travel and tour---nice, but I must admit I'm not interested. If I had the money and time, I'd rather go see Bad Lieu or New Order. That's just me; I try to be respectful as possible.

I really don't get his point of view these days. He feels totally vindicated "purely" touring every JDNO album since the beginning of time but when the others do so much as a three-quarters-member version of Ceremony or LWTUA he gets really fucked off with them. Surely I can't be the only fan noticing the disparity of it all? It's absurd.

You're not the only fan noticing that. Of course, please understand that was not my point of posting this (I'm not trying to turn this into a 10 page discussion), but rather that he seems very clear that he wants to tour more albums after UP/Closer (whether that is Movement or anything else, who knows?). And he even shows the desire to tour other albums beyond that. But yes, I did notice something a bit odd about what you mentioned.

He will be a very busy man for years if he does this indeed.

It does mean that, creatively speaking, he already HAS retired. So, nothing more to hear from Hooky except the past relived.

He may have been about trying to tour all of his own albums. But he's obviously not joking about Unknown Pleasures/Closer right now. I know that doesn't mean he's actually going to try to tour...his enthusiasm and energy to tour is admirable however.

So whens he Gonna do the Revenge tour?
