After reading the discussion on Finsbury Park Filmed, i was reminded of the excellent trade rules posted at an Underworld fan site (www.rtsr.org) that clearly lays out rules for trading with other fans. Here they are:
the rules
rtsr-trade has been around too long for it to be ruined by bad trading. we are not here to annoy record companies or to make money, so anything that is readily available can not be traded on the list. we are here to collect rare and live underworld, and are quite happy with our reputation as is.
thus if you break the rules once you will be cautioned, twice and you will be banned from rtsr-trade. so far we have only had to ban two people so please be nice :o)
what you can trade/share on the list :
- deleted / rare
- bootlegs / live gigs (bar "everything, everything")
- remixes by karl/rick/darren
- remixes of underworld/lemon interrupt by other artists not featured as b-sides
- merchandise (posters etc.)
- anything else (within reason) not listed below...
- promo that are played and recorded off the radio / tv
- fan made remixes
what you can not trade/share on the list :
- any promo of official release like album / single
- anything available in store that is not deleted from catalog and that is not released (so this mean all the album and pretty much all the singles)
note on albums/singles: you can purchase most of the above easily at any good music store/site, this is why they are banned from trade. you can trade sell the above only if you have the original. eg: you have two copies of "dubno" and want to trade one for a live gig. This rule is there mostly to stop mp3 sharing on material that underworld make their money.
these are rules we can all live with and if they are clearly posted we can trade in peace....any thoughts?
