Because it's already been done? This is keeping in line with the poster designs for Belgium and France.
There's actually a bit of symbolism here - four stars to represent Barney, Gillian, Steve, and Phil, and five stripes to represent the current live band.

Is that for real or did you photoshop that picture.
They'll tour the USA extensively throughout 2012 yet in 2013 millions of American New Order fans will whine that they never tour there.

New Order did just 3 gigs in the UK in 1989 but did countless( can't even recall exact figure there was so many) gigs in the USA that year. And at the end of the day if you were too dumb to catch em and were still listening to Bon Jovi in 1989 sorry but that's not my problem

Maybe they (or just Bernard) have bad memories of those lengthy tours? After USA '89 they went on hiatus. Same after the tour in '93. When they talk about their fondness of America, it usually reflects their early visits to NYC pre-Low Life.

1993- 9 gigs 1998 - none 2001- 4 gigs 2002 - none 2005-3 gigs 2006 - none 2009(Bad Loo) - none (all canceled and not rebooked as promised)
After '89 NO stopped touring the US extensively and pretty much stayed in their own backyard... though they are playing a "greatest hits" tour, dusting off songs they haven't played in awhile, I doubt they will be dusting off the tour habits of recent years (and undoubtedly one of the reasons Hooky left NO)...
