I think NOOL would be treated the main resource for NO stuff by most people. NO would have been better off slipping the NOOL owners/moderators a couple of quid to make sure the site is updated with any "official" news, dates, images, links etc as-and-when required.

Updating a website is a very time consuming process. You have to get things just right, get permissions to use photos and give credit where credit is due,its not just a case of copying and pasting stuff as you want to make the content your own,so to speak.

If you have any site that is coded entirely by hand then unless you are an absolute html code freak, then updating a html coded site is a fucking nightmare.

I am speaking from experience and a very long one at that, two years so far.

My webhosting package will have run out before i get my fookin site finished.

where was i?

Oh yes, just saying it isnt as easy as people think to update a webshite.

To be fair, fatherjack wasn't commenting on all that stuff, just suggesting NO and NOOL work together!

It wouldn't work, NOOL is a runaway train without a driver at the moment. The news section is rarely updated and even when it is, it's usually weeks past the event it's reporting. It has been this way for some time. Probably part of the reason this new site exists is because the owner of NOOL is not responding to news requests sent by either Prime Management or Hooky's lot; they've both given up waiting for a response and so decided to start their own thing. I don't blame either of them to be honest.

The only real drawn left for this web site are the forums really; they are alive and kicking. You could literally do away with the rest of the site and leave the forums and no-one would bat an eyelid. I wouldn't, anyway.

Yep, just to be clear - no criticism of nool was intended and the work done to keep the site going is MASSIVELY appreciated. My point is that nool is a fantastic resource and that the new website seems a bit unnecessary given that this site has long been the main focal point for fans... Just thought it might make more sense for NO to communicate through NOOL instead of a separate channel.

This site was basically down for a week either side of their first gigs in five years.

Probably not ideal for the band to use as a communication tool.

Quite - and the news page hasn't been updated for yonks...

Do any of the Mods (apart from Jeff and Shug) actually visit this place anymore?

I think it's perfectly fine for http://www.newordernow.net/ to exist for official information and for this site to continue as a resource for rumours and "opinion".

I can't imagine New Order's management doing much to support this site when you consider some of the shit talking that's done in these forums.

Its probably nowt to do with the band but the logo/name isnt really at the same level of smug subtlety Ive come to associate with New Order.

New Order Now. Like, not then but now. Yeah, yeah we get it:sleep:

Masel and Ally asked for more control, but the site would need revamped and cost x amount of pounds and i don't think Nic wanted to go that way. Not sure what's happening....and that new website should be called NewOrderGetReadyv3.0.com.....Can you remember that old flash site? it was annoying as fuck having to scroll over every part of the screen trying to get info

Phil looks like he's got an itchy arse!

also, this is from the new website, kind of funny

Following the well-documented departure of bass player Peter Hook, in Spring 2007,

New Order are now:

Stephen Morris (drums) Bernard Sumner (vocals, guitar) Gillian Gilbert (keyboard, guitar) Phil Cunningham (guitar, keyboards) Tom Chapman (bass)

You mean the amazing neworder.cc?

Not only is the site gone, I can't even find any screencaps of it. If I recall correctly, it did link back here though.

I would stay satisfied with a DJ set of one the members of the band, or even ex-members

I think when they realised that even though New Order could reform, play two gigs, announce more gigs as well as Hooky give his well-documented response and none of it be reported on in NewOrderOnline News section they decided it was time to set up their own site. Don't blame them really.

Just nice to see a web site up to date for a change :uhoh:

If Nic would give the moderators the ability to update the frontpage, it'd be nice!

Kinda reminds me of the Pet Shop Boys artwork circa 2009.

That's Zazzle for you. Never knowingly undersold.

What about the 'colossal' "NewOrder30" print ... for a cool £213.10 notes? Frame extra. Ouch.

then add extra depending on what sort of paper you want it on the one they recommend not being available as an option...

does anyone know how "official" is this NONow website? I'm wondering since they don't say anything about southamerica and brazil and chile are all over the web 'round here.

How official do you need it to be?

New Order's management update it.

Anyone notice the "NEW DATES - OLD FRIENDS - NEW ORDER" is the same text as David had up on worldinmotion a good two months ago?

Is he also behind this new site?! (He's not management that I'm aware of ... at least, not yet!)

else it was what the press release was labelled...

Funnily enough their Facebook page still lists NOOL as the band's site. It also has The Light under likes/other interest though.

Also if you look at the bottom, it says that the site was designed by the studio Parris Wakefield. I don't think a fansite would be able to afford that.
