With BL now seemingly on hold it maybe softens the blow for him I suppose..

Jake should have stuck to his own project for his own good really,same you could say for phil.

Not casting any doubts on his talent or whatever but you dont have the same creative choices or freedom in joining an established group because rightly or wrongly your always going to be perceived as the hired hand. Its always better to set out your own creative stall because playing someone elses tunes is a form of torture for most musicians unless your in it for the dough of course

As well as that id guess that most people when they bought the BL album they wanted to hear Bernard vocals regardless of how good jake was at the songs he sang.

Barney seems to be a real good friend. Always find a way to help his mates. Admire him for this

I saw Jake's band at the Friends of Mine-Festival. I like them.

Totally agree here. You ahve to admire Jake for stepping up and sharing vocals with one of the most distinctive voices of the past 20 years.

To me, BL were an extention of New Order, and when Barney sang, thats what BL sounded like. When Jake sang, it sounded like a totally different band. I am sure he understands why BL had to go back to New Order, and I have the feeling that he wants to make it on his own songwriting abilities (and he is talented) so nice of Barney and co to help him out. :)

So what happens to all those Bad Lt tracks that were supposedly being recorded in 2011? ;)

Actually, I'm happy for him that he joined BL to get the opportunity to work with legends like Bernard and Stephen. You don't get those kinds of opportunities too often, and the potential of having your music being heard by a wider audience is so great. That Phil, Jake and Tom chose to do it is awesome. I know I would have done the same, and many of you too.

I can see where your coming from but i still think for his own benefit that he should have stuck to rambo and leroy. Its always the same in every band that reforms with new members, the more established musicians call the shots no matter how creatively inclusive the established musicians are, which is a lot when its comes down to bernard and steve.

If i were jake and BL had ran on indefinitely id always have wondered whether or not i could have made it on my own and not so much in terms of fame but my own musical choices and ideas.

Working with good musicians is the prize in my opinion for being creatively original and writing good music, its the actual privilege of doing what you do beyond all the self indulgent awards and various other superficial shite.

Case example would be johnny marr working with bernard in electronic, both were equally great musicians in there own right and got creative recognition from their own projects beforehand.

It goes back to the whole factory thing of "if the music's good enough it will sell", thats basically my point if jakes music is good enough he will make it in his own right and will have the privilege to work with good musicians instead of a perception of being in the right place at the right time, a misplaced perception considering his genuine talent but a perspection nonetheless.
