Just curious (and perhaps it is a cultural difference), but why is it inherently bad taste to be interested or concerned or curious about the health of a musician you are into?
Are you sure it was her and not her daughter? I know her daughter has had health problems in the past due to my best mate directing her and Steve to a specific department at Macclesfield hospital a few years back.

Her daughter did have some health issues, but in the Clash magazine New Order cover story from this past June, Gillian talks about how she was diagnosed with cancer round 2006.
She was in the crowd (3rd row or so) at the Charlatans-gig at Friends of Mine-festival in May and she is obvious in a good condition.

I don't think there's anything wrong with 1) people wanting to know what's going on and 2) expressing good wishes for her, but I would draw the line at armchair diagnosis or speculation.

Oh, no, there is a difference between looking great and jumping in a mosh pit during a whole gig. You can look great without being fit.
