I have just discovered that NO played only once that song Love Juice in 85 in Auckland, NZ. I would love to hear it but couldn't find a bootleg... Help anyone? :)

Am pretty sure it's on Youtube.

Can't confirm, it's blocked at work.

Thanks for the link :thumb: Nice tune really although clearly a work-in-progress. Why was it droped? Doesn't sound like any other song NO recorded after 85! I still want a recording of the show though, sort of a :Xmas: gift for me!

'Love juice smells like stale fish'. Mmmmm... Bernard's sexual obsession knew no bounds in the mid 80's. It's right up there with 'my cock is the size of the M1'. Very upbeat for NO. Like it.

i think Love Juice was a cover version.I dont know the artist.

@ paradise man - This was the working title of perfect kiss...

"my cock is bigger than m1" i mean

of course the right one - "My Cock's As Big As The M1"

Oh dear........ what a crock of utter crap.

Of course they would never think of seriously releasing this one cos it's just a doss about isn't it?

The tune goes absolutely nowhere, it's just a meandering non-event, and the fact that right a the death Hooky sounds so positively bored that he's resorted to playing the bassline from "Truth" speaks volumes about where his head was at.

File under: rubbish: best left in the dumper.

 :skeptic:

dood, it was a fun cover or goof they played one time. having a blast onstage.

would have been hilarious to see them do this live!

it isn't like it is a track on a studio release.

untwist your panties.

Don't take my post so seriously.

Ironic indignation is my speciality, case you didn't know!

Ask some of the others!

For the record my panties are permanently twisted.

It's a great feeling!

I was at this gig - my first for New Order. They definitely weren't in a 'jovial' mood. This was a huge event for me as I was only 15 and had been collecting boots for a while. Can't believe I missed Love Juice and AOC because I left at the end of the set before the encore because THEY DIDN'T DO BLOODY ENCORES THEN!

Never mind, enjoyed the gig anyway.

I probably haven't listened to this in 20 years, and can't listen to it at work ... but isn't it shellfish, not stale fish?

I've spent all these years thinking it was shellfish!

Where's the third chord?

It's probably just as well you've only heard this 'song' once live. :spit:

It ain't even a song really, just an impro - something they weren't averse to doing before USA 89 when it all went corporate. In fact I don't think they even 'wrote' it, even the name comes from a bootlegger. Still fun though.

Nope, it's definitely "stale fish" or I'm a Mancunian...

Why on earth I bothered to transcribe this...so nobody else has to I guess...I too think this is a very loose cover of a unidentified song, but it may be an original.

They're obsessed with fish aren't they? Perhaps after this Steve and Gillian hit upon the idea of naming their debut OT single Tasty Fish (though the true story of that one centres around a chippy in Stockport) and their second one Selfish.
