Massive cheer for Gillian when introduced by Bernard. Real party atmosphere as the (red hot) Chile (feckers) made up for lost time to show their love for the band. It feels like the old bass player never existed at gigs like this.

Ace city Santiago, summer has arrived but they are very chilled out and friendly people. Lack of English speakers has meant Wolfram and me have had to be inventive - miming chicken, egg & chips to a waiter like a right pair of cunts - but have had a great time.

Same in Sao Paulo. It doesn't matter because most of the audience were too young to know the former bass player. By the way at the FEstival in SP there were a lot of people with Joy Division or New Order T-shirts.

I couldn't be more satisfied with Tom's performance in Sao Paulo. First of all, the bass was better EQ'ed than the rest of the band so you could hear him perfectly. Also, the guy kicked serious ass: a lot of personality, printing his own style where possible and doing backing vocals (although vocals in general were shitty).

If anybody is thinking of boycotting future gigs due the absence of Hooky, that's a great mistake. They are good/bad as they always were (depending on your point of view)

But I think Tom was out of the tempo in the end section of "TPK". Something quite New Order.

I know there was disgruntlement on here when those first two gigs were announced, but that certainly didn't last.

I know 1 serious NO fan who decided not to go to Sao Paulo because of that, but I think the majority of people won't be that dumb.

It's true. But I think Chapman is better than Hooky at least two songs: "Crystal" and "Blue Monday". He sounds superb on both!
