i've never liked how sumner does the curtis vocals in any joy division reworkings. especially when he does his "whoops" and whistlings
i saw hooky and the light in boston a year ago, and much prefer hooky doing the jd vocals. he nails the intensity of them. stays with the original intent.
of course, hooky doing the vocals means he can't focus on the bass, and Jack does a fine job, but i miss the hooky on bass.
i guess i am one of those fans who will go to see either band and have a good time.
Isolation, Heart and Soul, Transmission and Atmosphere (without whoops!) sound ok on Bernard's voice in my opinion. But I prefer Hooky singing them

Completely agree about you regarding Hooky doing the JD vocals.
I can't see it happening, but my dream set from this lot would be 2 hours long (first problem) with Hooky back in the fold. They would play New Order material for one hour or a little more, with Barney doing the vocals of course, then play a Joy Division set for the remainder with Hooky doing the vocals (fat chance Barney would agree to that, right?). My guess is that New Order never play much longer than an hour because Barney gets tired of doing the vocals. He could still do that if Hooky took over the vocals after an hour.
