Could you engerland guys tell me any nice summer festivals where Nuh Ordah could play in 2012? Any chance of Reading or Glastonbury?
Planning to see Hooky and The Other 3 taking different roads

Glastonbury isn't on in 2012.
Phoenix festival is rumoured be making a return next year. NO were set to play there at the last one in 98 which was cancelled due to poor ticket sales.Went to the 96 and 97 Phoenix festival but can't for the life of me remember what bands we saw apart from Minty (bird naked except for a see through plastic mac :) ). Be nice if they did play it in 2012, it's at Long Marston airfield near Stratford Upon Avon. I'd cycle to it. Have cycled to Stratford Upon Avon a few times, piss easy 40 odd miles round trip
Stratford's nice but the Long Marston site hasn't much 'charm' shall we say
Not sure if I like the idea of NO supporting The Roses.
I prefer to put them on an equal footing rather than NO as a support band for them 
[obviously prefer NO by miles]
Bowie did Phoenix in 96 and 97, during his 90s renaissance. The Prodigy as well I believe, and Rage Against The Machine.
I agree but also good pay day and chance to play to big crowd who may not appreciate they are together again similar but on a smaller scale to when BL supported Ian Brown at platts fields?

As in the V-Fest? I'd quite like to see them do that if only cos it's one location one day, then another the very next day. Would make a nice weekender. And they've not played V before, so it would be a new festival for them.
What other festivals haven't they done over here? Perhaps a slot at one of the Isle of Wight shindigs? Or maybe Latitude?
What with all these UMF and Future Music dates I wonder if they fancy a crack at Creamfields?
Agreed, that they're bound to get a Roses support slot somewhere down the line.

Are they though? After all, the Roses bassist is ex-Freebass not to mention was a prominent figure involved in the FAC251 club launch.
Might not be a certainty for NO's chances.

Nailed on then, I'd have thought. Long-running Roses support slot beckons.

They haven't done any pub gigs for a while either.
I'd say Creamfields is a shoo-in. They've tried to book them previously and it would sit well with the typical line-up. That said, I reckon it would be another 'vanity booking' on the part of the promoter, just like the Miami UMF. Having been up close and personal with the Creamfields masses back in August I don't see NO having much of a pull with the typical punter. Again, very young, very fucked up and with tastes very much in the 'hear and now' and a million miles away from NO. NB sold out months in adavance this year.
I would say TITP and Oxegen are good bets. Both are on the same weekend and share line-ups and Geoff Ellis of TITP is on record as saying finally getting NO to play in 2005 (was it then?) was the highlight of his 15 years running the festival. Ve Festival is another option for them to 'double-up' over both sites so I reckon they'll do that too. Most 'mixed' crowd of any festival I've been to so they'd be guaranteed a good reaction. The one in Essex was fucking 'orrible tho.
There is a music event which takes place in Cork each summer from Early June to mid July called "Live at the Marquee" which I think would suit New Order perfectly, each gig is independant of the other so you only have to purchase tickets for the gig you want to see,the lineup is very mixed with the likes of Tom Petty,Justice and The Specials announced so far for 2012. I reckon it would be a sellout with the venue holding I think around 6500 people. I can dream on I suppose....

Probably not, but would be bloody handy for Londoner NO fans.
thewickermanfestival likes middle aged groups. This year it was James , Feeder and The Bunnymen.
Or maybe they can play Butlins like the rest of the 1980s groups

The 1980's were when they were formed and had the biggest hits , so they are a 1980's group.
They are hardly a 90s group - lasted 3 years, and about the same in the 00's.
