Hi, anyone bought his yet? i'm not especially excited, might buy for completist sake. just wondered about the mastering. is it the same as the digital itunes release?

I bought it the other day in HMV Piccadilly: £25 / 10 CDs / 21 Songs
It's basically Substance 1977-80 remastered with a few added extras (As You Said, LWTUA Pennine) which I was quite pleased to have because Rhino bizarrely missed out those songs completely in the 2007 album remasters.
The mastering is top notch really, along the same lines as 'Total'. First thing I did was rip all the WAVs and make a single 77 minute CDr which is far handier as each disc has just 2 tracks each aside from Komakino which has 3.
Not sure why they didn't just do a deluxe Substance 1977-80 reissue rather than this 10 2-track CD approach but it's good to have the non-album tracks like Warsaw, Digital etc. remastered in a decent way.
I got the limited vinyl edition released a year ago. It came out with a code to download a high quality MP3 version. So, to me doesn't make sense to buy the new one on CD. But it's a good opportunity for whose didn't get the vinyl box set. The remastered audio of this one sounds really superb.
