Didn't Ian sing quite extensively on the 1987 US tour? - around the time Bernard became ill through the stress of live gigs. A bunny rabbit was asked to step in to save the day.

Must confess, not heard that rumour before. I had lots of bootlegs from those gigs and don't remember much Bunnyman involvement. Perhaps there was a couple of jam'ed encores, not sure?

Surprising - I have a gatefold collection of records obtained around '87 which has the gigs listed. It looks like an American promo for the bands, Jene Loves Jezzebell, NO, Echo and His Bunnymales inside a rather tasty looking package (aqua blue with large type on).

I'm pretty certain Ian sang on more than one occasion (most of the latter part of the trip in actual fact) - and I'm also fairly sure that Barney had a blow-out.

is the rumour about this tour true - that Bernard reportedly ended up in A&E with a mic stuck in his mouth?

Inta-Don - I'm a sad, unemployed git with nowt better to do with my time

There was a 'jam' with Echo and the Bunnymen at that gig too.

And Mark, perhaps it wasn't a microphone, try a bottle of Pernod or perhaps even worse...

There was one jammed encore of the Velvet's "Run Run Run" after the Bunnymen set at Darien Lakes which featured both Barney and Mac on vocals - only Barney joined the Bunnymen on stage. No New Order gigs featured Mac on vocals, not even encores. I have the entire tour on tape (all that is available anyway, there's three missing I think, plus half of Jones Beach), and there's no Mac to be found on any of them.

There WAS an incident with a mic & Barneys mouth - Ian Mac' DID sing a few times on that tour and was shit - there is film of the GMEX gig where you can clearly see that he's reading the lyrics from a piece of paper and even then manages to fuck them up.

Darien Lakes??!! That's not only 2 1/2 hours from where I live, but I spent just about every summer of my young life there! I could've actually been within a mile of them! Imagine me being 4 years old, hearing "True Faith" in the distance, and being subliminally programmed for being a huge fan 15 years later ;)

Totally agree, I think the clip I saw of Mac murdering Ceremony was on Music Box 88 (where Steve & Gillian are interviewed) made Barney look positvely "in tune" :evil4: Don't get me wrong though, I think he's a great singer (just not with NO;) )
