It's ironic really because Primal Scream are one of my favourite bands and I know they're popular with the New Order fanbase in general.
Stuff like Screamadelica (obviously), XTRMNTR and even Evil Heat from 2002 are all phenomenal, genre-demolishing records with a real experimental electronic edge. Much like lots of the early-to-mid New Order stuff. Even bits and pieces of Get Ready's sound, particularly Crystal, owes a little to XTRMNTR.
But then you get them together in the studio and the best all that genius can come out with is a half-baked Stooges pastiche even Iggy would probably have rejected for being a bit shit.
Rock The Shack is the audible representation of waste of talent.

Spot on, and I don't mind the song for this reason, they sound like they were having a laugh and having fun making it.

The BBC version is much better mind.
I must admit that I don't mind RTS, and it's related to PS' "Shoot Speed/Kill Light" which can never be a bad thing.
Has anybody heard the full length version (5:00) that's on some early album CDRs? Does it include the additional lyrics as on the BBC version?

A lot of their material, particularly in more recent times, has really shitty lyrics. The difference being that some have better music than others.
Someone I know once listened to rock the shack followed by working overtime. No ones heard from them since.
