Prompted by seeing that programme on 'Wacko' last night (bbc choice) what work have NO done for charity down course of their illustrious history?
I know some bands are often in the limelight for raising public awareness of social issues. What about NO???
Who remembers that t-shirt Barney wore in the states that said "Dont Do Drugs" ohh the irony.. oh the irony... ;)
I remember they played for the minners during their 80's strike, and an AIDS day festival or something (the gig featured in the Academy Vid). There must be others...

The Festival Hall gig was for the Miners, the Academy was indeed for World AIDS day, supporting Bronksi Beat. ULU was for the Mexican earthquake disaster. Glastonbury in the 80's was still very much regarded as a CND Festival, so some monies would've gone towards that from their appearances. Think the Sheffield 86 was also a benefit of some sort too? They even did a benefit gig for Alan Wise, but can't remember which one that was - Doncaster Rotters, maybe?

Brixton '87 'Acadamy' , yep excellent concert with one of the best performances of TEMPTATION ever!
Heard about the miners gig as well but dont know how publicised it was and how much it raised??

CLP was a benefit as well. So was Loughborough 86.
miners benefit....sheffield city hall..( with billy bragg and abc )
from manchester with love...liverpool council benefit...( with the fall and the smiths )....concert was compered by mr hatton himself...quite poignant as he was the beneficiary of most of the proceeds...
