Just after watching the Rare and Unseen DVD.
1963, looked as though it was over dubbed with the actual studio recorded version.
The only thing that looked in sync was steve's drumming.
Is it just me on a heavy trip or has anyone else noticed this?

I noticed it too, it's definitely the studio version mixed with what they're playing because as you say Steve's drums seem to be live and Bernard's live vocal goes out of tune (frequently). Or maybe the actual performance was so crap they not-so-subtley dubbed it on in post-production?
Even Hooky's bass sounds like it's just the studio version being playing which is slightly ironic in lieu of recent *cough* accusations 
either that or he's playing it completely and utterly note/rhythm perfect.
It's a weird performance all round that 1963... Dream Attack from the same show seems to be completely live by comparison but the sound of the recording is really muddy & shite.
Anyone else shed any light? Tim?

Question is whether it was post-produced or played that way at the gig.
I noticed something was odd about that version of 1963 on the DVD, but I couldn't quite understand why.
Shoreline is an amphitheater south of San Francisco - I've seen many shows there. This is footage the venue shoots to show on in-house monitors scattered around the concession areas, usually running a straight feed of the soundboard. I believe they give a copy to the bands at the end of the night. Perhaps the sound on the tape cuts out or was otherwise damaged, and in order to salvage it for the DVD they dubbed it in?
Could be, the sound quality of Dream Attack is barely passable for a supposed soundboard/official recording so 1963 could have been beyond unlistenable and in need of artifical "improvement" after the event.
Do not know why "Nuh Ordah" is not playing Artur Baker's version instead live now. It's the best one in my opinion

You hear the live tracks there, it's obvious they've put the studio version over the live version, probably to help fill the mix out.
When the DVD came out, I was shocked that this was the best Technique era footage they had to offer.
The clips from the Run video look much more interesting. I wonder if that entire gig was filmed.
