"NEW ORDER frontman BERNARD SUMNER makes his DJ-ing debut at tonight's exclusive party for techno star MOBY. But Bernard reveals he has never DJ-ed before. A pal said "Bernard is quite nervous. There are going to be loads of celebs there and he isn't sure what to play."
My mate Gary, who some people would've met at Finsbree, Mancland, etc, bumped into Bernard at the Scum (that's Southampton for you and me) Boat Show earlier in the week and cornered him for 15mins. No real news of any interest: starting work on the new album, etc.
not sure why they say bernard hasnt djed before because he has a few times. he got raves reveiws for it once at an event playing trippy acid and beats about 8 years ago.
Went to see Moby at the Astoria last night. Not really that impressed. It's one thing playing to 1500 people or whatever but god knows how he'll transfer that set to 10k people when he plays the aircraft hangars over here. Still, the Mrs liked him. Didn't see Mr Sumner knocking about anywhere though. Probably still working out his set for the after-show?!
